What is a V.A? What role does a V.A play in the business or personal world? How can V.A benefit you? So many questions, yet so little time! So... let's address those, shall we? What is a V.A?
V.A stands for Virtual Assistant, and that's what I am! If you Google it, a V.A is a virtual assistant who is generally self-employed and provides professional administrative, technical, or creative assistance to clients remotely from a home office. Each of those descriptive words is true, but it is also more specific. V.A's take on recurring tasks and administrative work that frees up time for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and managers in the business world. A personal V.A can help an individual with a variety of professional and personal tasks. They can schedule meetings, plan and organize trips, events, and manage the day-to-day work of an individual person. Benefits to hiring a V.A?
Absolutely! The benefits depend on the line of work the individual or company is in. I specialize and tailor my services to bookkeepers and in the bookkeeping community. I do all of the "Standard" V.A duties like the ones listed above, but then I assist in reviewing systems and processes to make a bookkeeper more efficient. I implemented those changes to the procedures and processes that are most effective for the bookkeeper to scale and grow. I have more of the administrative role that I play for bookkeepers. Tasks and duties like client communication, data entry, gathering, running, and sending financial reports....basically giving time back to the bookkeeper to be the actual bookkeeper! If you haven't noticed yet, being a V.A means and looks so different depending on their skill set, knowledge, and passions. Could anyone be a V.A? I get this questions a lot. In my opinion it takes dedication, good organizational skills and a mind for multitasking. I wouldn't go back to the corporate world to save my life! I love what I do and I am proud to call myself a V.A.
